Le silence a régné dans la cour du château en 2020 en raison des contraintes sanitaires.
Espérons que la fête de Mézerville aura lieu en 2021 et que l’Association NAMUKA pourra nous proposer un spectacle !

Mézerville castle was built on the top of a 330 m high hill call "La Piège", in the Lauragais region located in the south east of France. The castle’s construction dates back to the beginning of the 15th century.

The end of the Hundred Years war was a troubled and insecure period. It explains the very severe aspect of the building which was used as a military defence.

During the 13th century the Comtes de Foix were the owners. We can find in the castle some architectural aspects of this period.

In the 16th century, during the Woad period mullion windows were inserted into the south facing wing of the castle.

During the following centuries the building was not changed, and has thus preserved its homogeneous appearance as a 15th and 16th century building.
